- Activity Description
The International Dam Innovation Contest (IDIC) is a competition held by the Civil Engineering Innovation Contest (CEIC) of Civil Engineering at Diponegoro University, which is active in the field of waterworks, namely dams. Complex environmental problems, such as flood problems, are very common throughout the world, so the International Dam Innovation Contest (IDIC) fully contributes to creating the future generation by accommodating international students to channel their ideas and innovations in planning dams that maximize their utilization. This year’s CEIC Season XI International Dam Innovation Contest (IDIC) carries a theme that is very relevant to the issue of flood problems, namely “Innovation Planning of Landfill Dam Type as Flood Control and Maximizing the Other Multifunction”.
- Activity Purpose
The purpose of holding this activity is to foster motivation and creativity as well as provide innovation on environmental issues in dam construction. In addition, this competition can also improve the ability of participants to analyze dam construction and infrastructure. Of course, there are other positive things, such as the concept of using sustainable dam buildings for the environment and the surrounding community.
- Activity Implementation Time
This activity was carried out from February 9 to May 5, 2023, starting with open registration for all CEIC Season XI International Dam Innovation Contest (IDIC) participants, then working on papers, the announcement of finalists, PowerPoint and videos, and in the final, a final presentation. as well as a written test by the finalists of the International Dam Innovation Contest (IDIC) CEIC Season XI.
- Forms of activity
This activity itself was initiated by the distribution of questions, and then the CEIC Season XI Innovation Contest (IDIC) participants were asked to write a paper in accordance with the TOR of papers given by the committee. Then the papers will be collected and go through a paper selection system by the jury so that five finalists will enter the final round. Finalists who have passed the paper selection round will be asked to make PowerPoints and videos, which will then be presented in the final. After the presentation is carried out, the finalists will carry out a written test as the last round of the competition, until they finally go through the judging process and the announcement of the winner.
- Activity Benefits
The benefit of this activity is that participants can improve their ability to analyze problems in dam construction and infrastructure, so that later their innovations will benefit the environment and society.
