sipilsandbox.undip.ac.id – Civil engineering students from Diponegoro University have achieved 1st place in The 8th Green Concrete Civil Days 2023 held by Malang State University. The Circle On Top team, under the guidance of Dr.-Ing Ir. Bobby Rio Indriyantho, S.T., M.T., IPM., and composed of students from the 2021 cohort, namely Salsalbila Yowinda Putri (Team Leader), Zulfa Izza Nugroho, and Rafi Pradipta Daniswara, secured the 1st place in the Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) competition category.
The competition consisted of two stages. In the first stage, the Circle On Top team designed a paper on concrete based on the trial mix conducted. In the second stage, they advanced to the final round alongside six other teams. Each team created a concrete test specimen, a beam, and a cylinder in their respective university laboratories. Subsequently, the beam specimen underwent flexural strength testing at 4 days old, while the cylinder specimen underwent compressive strength testing at 28 days old at Malang State University. Every team had to deliver a presentation, engage in a question-and-answer session, and perform slump testing on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.
With this innovation, the Circle On Top team hopes that their idea can benefit the construction industry and support Indonesia in its Sustainable Development.
