[et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text”]sipilsandbox.undip.ac.id – The Circle Daksha team, led by Zulfa Izza Nugroho (Civil Engineering 2021) and consisting of Salsalbila Yowinda Putri (Civil Engineering 2021) and Hilmy Ammar Albaihaqi (Civil Engineering 2021), along with supervisor lecturer Mr. Banu Ardi Hidayat, S.T., M.T., won 1st place at the Civil Carnival Competition 7.0 2023 with the theme of “High-Quality Innovative Concrete with Attention to Environmentally Friendly Aspects and Easy to Implement for Infrastructure Development in Indonesia”. This competition was organized by the Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto.

This group utilized GO waste and GGBFS as an alternative to cement and steel slag as coarse aggregate in order to increase the concrete’s strength. In addition, the team achieved a slump flow measurement of 77 cm, resulting in more workable concrete than conventional concrete. As a replacement for coarse aggregate, steel slag plays a crucial role in enhancing the compressive strength of concrete. In 28 days, the design concrete with a compressive strength of fc’ 35 MPa increased to fc’ 41.3 MPa. The team conducted numerous trials and errors in the Materials and Construction Laboratory of the Civil Engineering Department to ensure that the concrete produced was extremely durable.

It is hoped that the innovations created by the Circle Daksha team will have a positive impact, particularly in the infrastructure sector, become a solution to development problems, support sustainable development, and help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
